eSIM support is now standard in premium smartphones, but compatibility varies significantly across the broader device landscape. Regional variants, carrier locks, and firmware versions all affect eSIM functionality. This review provides verified compatibility data to help travelers confirm support before purchasing a plan.

Verification Method

iPhone: Settings → General → About → look for EID (Embedded Identity Document) number. If present, eSIM is supported. Android: Settings → About Phone → SIM Status, or Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM.
